Accountable Care Organization
Under the Affordable Care Act, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized new rules to help physicians, hospitals, and other service providers give improved care for Medicare Fee-for-Service patients through Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).
ACOs create incentives for healthcare providers to work together to treat an individual Medicare Fee-for-Service patient across care settings-including physician offices, hospitals and long-term care facilities.
HealthCare Provider ACO, Inc. is a network of health care providers.
For general information on ACOs, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) 24 hours a day 7/days a week. TTY users should call 1-877-486-2048 or visit The Official U.S. Government Site for Medicare ACOs at http://1.usa.gov/ZwaDd0.
